With regret, we have had to pull out of the Skasplash festival in Skegness.....we apologise to anyone hoping to see us...and hope you have a great time enjoying all the top acts like the Hotknives, Symarip, Pioneers, Prince Buster, Rhoda, the Beat etc etc.....
Reggae on soul brothers and sisters, no ska for ska's sake here...it's all truly from the heart...it's a joy, a passion, a fever!! Can't shake it off....who wants to?! Good to see you here....hope 2008 brings you much happiness...we are currently spending our time writing for a new album...yes, shocks of mighty!! We are looking for a summer release for our first since...erm...2004?? We'll keep you posted...in the meantime, no shows...sorry....we are booked to appear at one, the Ska Splash Festival at Skegness, Lincolnshire, on April 25th/26th/27th. It's a three day festival with an amazing line up...can't wait...everyone from the Prince, Skatalites, Symarip, Denis Alcapone, the Beat, Mark Foggo, Rebelation, Rough Kutz, Hot Knives, Goldmaster Allstars, the Big...and then some!! Hope to see you there.
What of last year? July the 7th, we headed off to Germany for two shows on the same day!!! Not just any two shows either....first, a lunchtime appointment at the biggest european reggae festival, Summerjam, in Koln, before the Slackers....then we off to Mainz, home of the great venue the Reduit, for their anuual outdoor festival...the fantastic Pepperpots from Spain, new german trad ska band Henry Morgan and the Buccaneers, Dutch keyboard reggae supremos the Upsessions, and Derrick Morgan!! We backed the mighty Winston Francis too...what a weekend!!
We had the pleasure of some truly memorable gigs...in Oxford a packed Zodiac enjoyed Alton Ellis on fine form, a real joy for us, and Dave Barker also joined us to warm the crowd up...hope it gets repeated...in Girona, Catalunya (Spain)we played the Rude Cat festival with the Pioneers, Westbound Train, the Pepperpots, and Rude and Visser in front of 2000, it has to be repeated next year!!....and in Margate we had a party with a sharp dressed crowd for 'Bank Holiday 1970', Dave Barker getting down with us for nearly 2 hours!! Truly vintage!! Boss....
What else?? Oh, some celebrity endorsements!! Phil Jupitus kindly asked if we had any new releases planned, and told us he had played us on BBC Radio 6 ! News to us!? AND anyone watch City Lights?? Formerly called Northern Lights? With Robson Green and Mark Benton? Great show...and it just so happens that Mark (Early Doors/adverts for a famous bank/Booze Cruise etc) is a fan, and wore an Intensified t shirt in the last episode whilst on the London Eye! yeah!! Mainstream tv for all of 3 or 4 seconds!! Thanks Mark....by the way, talking of Mark, have you checked our Myspace?? Couple of tracks plus chat from the Mark Lamarr show we did at Xmas for BBC Radio 2...
